We are working with Glen Carne Supported Housing to train and house adults for greater independence and integration into the community.

Our Housing Matters is an accredited qualification, which is backed by the Chartered Institute for Housing. It is designed to give people the skills, knowledge and confidence to take on a rental property.

This training covers a wide range of topics, including; deposits, tennancy agreements, legal rights and responsabilities, budgeting, effective property management and maintenence, home insurance and who to contact for support and emergencies.

The over-all aim is to facilitate and support the transition into rental accommodation in the short term, and in the log term to equip adults with the tools and understanding they need to choose appropriate services, stay safe and to continue to support themselves for the future.

We are currently seeking funding to appoint a Housing Matters worker who can offer on-going support and mentoring to new tenants, and act as an independent third party to help with possible disputes that may arise.
