Local Jobs for Local People is a project designed to create and maintain jobs for individuals and businesses in the Redtuth area. We work with a wide network of businesses, unemployed people and young people to help upskill the existing workforce, and to build new routeways between employers and the unemployed.
How we can help your business?
Workforce Development – we can offer a wide range of accredited and unaccredited training to your workforce, including bespoke topics and more traditional routes (including Leadership & Management, Teamwork, Stress Management, Customer Service, Retail, ICT… and many more)
Traineeships and Apprenticeships – the right young person can be a great addition to any workplace, and really does help to future-proof your business. We can work with you to match your needs to a suitable young person, and help arrange up to 5 months work experience, as well as ongoing training alongside. We can also offer high quality Apprenticeship provision.
Grants of between £1500 and £2275* are available for those taking on an apprentice or young person.

How we can help individuals?
Training – we offer a wide range of training for individuals who are looking to return to work, or considering a change in direction. Many of our courses are free or subsidised, and we offer training in many different areas including Teaching, Personal Development (Assertiveness, Confidence), Employability and Vocational areas (ICT, Customer Service, IAG and Leadership and Management). We can also train and support you to achieve Self Employment.
Advice & Guidance – unsure what your options are? We can support you to access a range of independent and impartial advice and guidance services to help you explore and identify ways to overcome barriers you may face in returning to work.
Volunteering – we have volunteering opportunities linked to community based ICT delivery.
How you can help us?
Employer Partnership – we are looking to expand on our partnership of employers, who are happy to help us develop and deliver meaningful Traineeships to young people that will be designed to help them reach their personal best and move into rewarding employment. There are many opportunities to get involved, from offering and hosting meaning work experience opportunities, through to sitting on our employer panel which we bounce ideas and questions off from time to time.
